WEATHER
Greece has a Mediterranean climate. Hot and dry summers with moderate north winds (meltemia) are common in Crete from June to September. Due to mild winters and warm temperatures, you can swim in the sea as early as mid-March and as late as mid-November.

Greek is the official language, but English, German, and French are commonly spoken.
CURRENCY
The Euro is the official currency of Greece. US dollars are not accepted in official transactions. As per Greek Law, for any official transaction of over 500€, the use of a credit card or bank transfer is compulsory – no cash will be accepted.

Greece is GMT/UTC + 2h during Standard Time, and GMT/UTC + 3h during Daylight Saving Time.

Electricity is supplied at 230 V. Power outlets are Type C (EU).
